BOW — A regional food network that connects local farms to large buyers expanded into Everson recently, giving Skagit farmers more opportunities to sell in Whatcom County.
On Sept. 9, an aggregation and distribution site opened at Cloud Mountain Farms in Everson, north of Bellingham.
It joins a similar site at Bow Hill Blueberries in Bow and the 21 Acres Food Hub in Woodinville as part of a regional food system that connects small and medium-sized farms with large institutional buyers like restaurants, hospitals, businesses and schools.
